Case: After logging in, the sound control icon is displayed as muted. Clicking on it to display Audio Volume settings and sliders, appears blank – no settings and sliders. Audio Volume Settings window -> Audio tab has all settings present but grayed out, no audio device detected.

Solution
- Reinstall Pulse Audio:
sudo eopkg it --reinstall pulseaudio
- Reboot
